Lumen Loop's take

Liquid Group, a major Asian cryptocurrency exchange, partnered with Stellar Development Foundation to provide USD Coin (USDC) on the Stellar network. The collaboration allows Liquid customers to withdraw USDC via Stellar, reducing transaction times from minutes to seconds and cutting costs to less than a penny per transaction, compared to $12-15 on other networks. Stellar was officially designated as a blockchain for USDC in October 2020. Stablecoins dominated transaction volume in Q1 2021 with $869 billion globally, surpassing Bitcoin and Ethereum. The partnership positions Liquid as the first major exchange supporting Stellar USDC and opens access to new geographies through additional Stellar-based stablecoin assets.
